Upcoming Guest Blog on MLP Taxation

Happy to announce that at some point in the next few weeks, I will have my first guest blog post.  MLP sector-renowned tax attorney Tim Fenn has agreed to do a post where he answers questions that I compile ahead of time from readers and followers of this site.  So please add your questions to the comment section below or just shoot me an email.

General questions only, nothing specific that would constitute him giving you personal tax advice.

Read about Tim at Latham & Watkins’ website here.

Re Tim Fenn:  Very interested to learn more about who owns MLPs.  Thanks.

I own MLPS in my IRA. How would a sale of an MLP in my IRA be handled taxwise?
Also, if I transferered a MLP[through my MRD] to my taxable acct, would the prices reset, like other equities?
    Thanks
